JAMES S. BARGAR, PH.D.
LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST KANSAS AND MISSOURI
With over 30 years experience in mental health practice, and the academic vision gained as a Professor of Psychology at Missouri Western State College, Jim Bargar brings a wealth of experience to his colleagues and clients. He has organized numerous symposiums and presented papers at national conferences; and has also led many training workshops on a variety of mental health topics.
Jim has served on the boards of both the Kansas Association of Professional Psychologists, and the Kansas Psychological Association, and he has served as president of both organizations. Jim is an active member of the American Psychological Association and the Division of Independent Practice.
On a more personal career level, Jim has worked both locally and nationally to improve the delivery of health care in the United States. He has been a strong advocate of the importance of the patient's freedom to choose health care services. Jim's deep concern and commitment to this issue is reflected in his relationships with clients.
In addition, he is actively involved in our community; having served six years as a member of the Greater Kansas City Mental Health Association, and most recently, as a board member of the Johnson County Medical Society's One x One Project.
