Volunteers

Patee House Museum and the Jesse James Home depend on their volunteers to augment the museum staff in daily operations.

As a volunteer, you may

  • Greet visitors, ring up admissions and handle gift shop sales at the front desk.
  • Serve up sarsaparilla or popcorn as a volunteer bartender in the Buffalo Saloon.
  • Work in the museum office helping to file and answer correspondence.
  • Help behind-the-scenes with exhibit preparation.
  • Serve delicious ice cream in our Japanese Tea House.
Whatever you choose, you will receive special training, work with other important volunteers, and have an opportunity to meet interesting people from all over the world.

Our museums are open seven days a week from April through October, and we need volunteers who can work a morning or afternoon shift each week if possible. For more information contact Penny Arnold or Kim Davis at (816) 232-8206.
